One person seriously injured after single motorcycle crash on Transmountain Rd.
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- One person is recovering in the hospital after being seriously injured in a motorcycle crash late Wednesday night. Eastbound lanes on Transmountain Rd. were closed for hours Thursday morning but have since reopened.
According to a post on x.com (formerly Twitter) from El Paso Police Traffic, the crash happened Transmountain/Loop 375 East at Mile Marker 19.
An El Paso Fire Department emergency dispatcher told ABC-7 the call came in around 11:30 p.m, and that one person was taken to University Medical Center.
El Paso Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash. According to a release, special traffic investigators from the sheriff's office were dispatched at 12:40 a.m. to mile marker 19 Loop 375 in reference to a single motorcycle crash with serious injuries. Their investigation so far shows the driver of the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Loop 375.
ABC-7 crews on the scene saw deputies were also focusing their attention to a pickup truck nearby. The sheriff's office has not said if it was also involved in the crash.
