Bea Martinez, weekend sports anchor / reporter

Beatriz (Bea) Martinez is from Chandler, Arizona.

She graduated with a Master’s degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Sports Journalism.

She developed a strong passion for sports at a very young age. She grew up running track and field in Elementary school then later found a love for basketball. Bea took the Junior college route, she was a three-sport athlete playing basketball, running cross country and track and field for one year at Glendale Community College. She later earned a track scholarship to Academy of Art University in San Francisco and earned a Bachelor’s in Communications and Media Technologies.

Bea is the first in her family to leave the state to pursue a college career and is also the first to earn an athletic scholarship.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her son, being outdoors and exercising!
