Sarah Coria, GMEP weather forecaster / reporter
Sarah Coria is a native of El Paso. As a child in the Sun City, Sarah was a part of a technology program in her elementary school called SWAT. In SWAT, Sarah helped produce a morning newscast daily. That's where Sarah got her first experience anchoring and covering weather. This is what sparked Sarah’s interest in broadcast journalism.
After graduating from Americas high school, Sarah attended El Paso Community College, where she decided to pursue a career in Biology. After obtaining her Associates in Biological Sciences, she worked in a science lab where she realized her true passion lay in Journalism.
Sarah decided to switch degrees. She attended UTEP, where she created audio, web, and video stories published on Borderzine.com. During her time at UTEP, she was awarded the Carolyn Partee Parker Endowed Scholarship for Journalism Students. She graduated from UTEP on the Dean's list as magna cum laude with her bachelor's degree in multimedia journalism and a minor in biological sciences.
Sarah started her journey at KVIA as an intern. During her internship, she was offered a job behind the scenes as a video editor. She is now a multimedia journalist.
Sarah is excited to continue her journey at KVIA.
